 A relationship can only survive if it is based on trust and love and all the positive emotions there is. A relationship of trust and confidence is essential to make it long lasting and meaningful. Once all of it is tarnished and anger and vengeance sets in then you have put your love affair at risk of a bleak and murky future.
When there is betrayal, that relationship of trust and confidence is sure to go out the window. The first that will be tremendously affected is trust and anger will take over. You have to be ready to deal with trust and anger if you want to straighten things out again.

I can still remember a few years back when I was stuck in the airport for hours because of heavy snowfall As I sat there for almost forty five minutes, I can’t help but noticed the woman two vacant seats away from me, she was sobbing and her eyes looked puffy as if she was crying for a long time and had not taken any sleep, aside from I can’t also help but noticed her outfit, she was just wearing a sweater and jogging pants as if she just packed all her bags and left in a hurry.
As I was observing, I was never aware that I was already staring at her. “A hundred thoughts might be going on through your mind as you look at me, a sorry looking woman in the airport” she said. I instantly apologized for staring and told her I’m sorry for whatever it is she going through.
She told me it’s all right and she cannot blame me because she really does look pathetic. “I don’t usually look like this you know, something bad just happened in my life and I just found out a few hours ago and I decided to leave because it is hard for me to stay anymore.” She said.
Before saying something I introduced myself because I don’t want her to feel more sorry by talking to a stranger. “I guess we’ll be stuck here for hours, I might as well, amuse you with my tragic story” she continued and her story lasted for hours until our flight schedule resumed.
The woman in the airport was Jenny, she’s an interior designer, she has been living in New York for almost ten years and she has been married for eight years to a corporate lawyer. To make her long story short she caught her husband sleeping with another woman in their own bed, she found out that her husband of eight years has been cheating with her with her best friend, and it was not an ordinary affair, they were having an affair for the last three years.
What she cannot take is that in the three years of her husband’s affair with her best friend, the three of them had dinner together, spend special occasions together, and practically shared their life together. What’s more tragic is that Jenny is two months pregnant. She told me that if it were an ordinary affair with somebody, she can see herself forgiving or at least do something to save the marriage but in this situation she cannot imagine saving anything because she has lost every confidence to herself and to the people she thought she can count on.
“They were the only family I have and both of them betrayed me” she said as she finished her story. There are situations that dealing with trust and anger requires confrontation but when the pain cripples you inside it is best to deal with trust and anger in your own time, to give yourself moment and space to heal and recover.
