With the increasing popularity of online dating
I thought I should devout some time to this
new dating and relationship community.
Just like in regular real-world relationships,
online relationships need tending so that it
will grow over time.
When that happens it often moves from the
virtual world to the real world.
So what do you do to make online relationships
grow and become successful.
One of the things you need to do is to actually
take time and make time for the other person.
Same as in real life isn't it?
Of course it is, the only difference being you
meet online is all.
Does your online date get in touch with you
regularly?
Do you do the same?
Sometimes it is easy to forget only because
we think that since it's online it's not personal.
The thing is, neglecting virtual meetings can
be considered neglect and rude by the other
person - even if it is online.
I'm sure you will feel the same if you were
made to wait and nothing happens.
And when that happens, as in real life, it
quickly bring the relationship to an end.
So treat each other’s time with respect.
If it’s lacking either you have to move on or
the other person may.
This means that you need to communicate
with the other person regularly.
But it has to be communication that's normal
and right - not the type of communication that
can be pushy and rushed.
Yes you may be head over heals over that
other person but don't give of the vibe that
you're in a hurry and come off as being pushy.
Don’t rush things.
Have the patience to take your time to learn
more about each.
This way you can know what makes the
other tick and at the same time develop
trust with one another.
Share special online and offline fun times.
Send online greeting cards, links to favorite
places, upload digital photos, share music
and video clips, etc.
If you’re exchanging addresses or post office
boxes, send cards postcards, small fun items
and even letters
Just do not forget to respect each others
privacy.
Don’t share personal email addresses, digital
photos or anything else the other person sent
you.
He or she may not want the whole world to
know what they are doing online so don't go
posting things on Facebook until you talk to
them and get their permission to do so.
It's only right because I'm sure you don't want
the same thing to happen to you.
Tend your online relationship as you would
any relationship in the physical world.
Remember, there is no difference other than
the method of meeting.
A relationship is a relationship is a relationship.
Water it with care and over time it can sprout
and grow into something beautiful.
