It’s like being left alone in an island in the middle of nowhere. But you know what, it doesn’t have to be that way, you don’t need to suffer this season. There is a way not to miss out this Holiday season.
Here are some tips on how to survive Holidays heartaches, and maybe even get a dose of your own holiday cheer.
Get out of town. What’s the best way to get away from it all? Get out of town, of course! There is no perfect way to refresh you broken heart than to go someplace else where you can get a break from your breakup. So grab your best pal and take a short trip to a place that doesn’t hold any memory of your ex.
Do acts of kindness.
It has been proven that nothing can heal a broken heart faster than kindness, no, not to your ex, but to yourself and others. Since the Holiday season is the spirit of giving, why not do some altruistic deed to the less fortunate. Turn your attention to those who are in need. Why not visit a nursing home, or help serve the homeless, or read some stories, and share a laugh, or give a toy or two at the children’s cancer patient hospital? This will not only give you a new positive perspective, but you are also making a difference in someone else’s life. Being kind to others is being kind to yourself. This is what you need this Holiday season.
Pamper yourself with presents. Nobody deserve a wonderful present that yourself. This time don’t be guilty to give yourself something fancy. Self-gifting is the best way to cheer you up this Holiday season, so start making your list and checking it twice!
Create a vision board. The New Year is around the corner, and nothing can be more perfect than to start the New Year right by making a vision board of how you want your life to be. It’s time to surf the web, go through magazine, print or cut out some pictures, and words and begin creating the fabulous new you in your vision board. Be sure to mount it somewhere visible.
Throw a fabulous singles party! Instead of drowning on self- pity, turn the mood around by celebrating your singlehood! Throw a party with all your singles friends only and rock the night away! Who knows you might meet something that can walk you through the New Year’s Eve and the whole year through.
