 There are so many sayings and myths about what love is and is not and one of those things that I truly find ridiculous is the saying that “love is blind”. If there is one thing that love does to a person or couple, is it let’s them see the whole picture.
Love is supposed to make you see what’s within you and your partner. It’s supposed to make you see the worst in you and your partner but still gives you some sense to apply some wisdom to do what is right and inspires you and your partner to become a better person.

Love should never confuse you, it’s supposed to make you see where you stand, and it gives you confidence and esteem in yourself and your affair. For a person who bears true love is a person who has enough courage to do what is right. That’s why a person who believes that it is blind has some major relationship issues.
A person doesn’t know where he or she stands is surely suffering from relationship issues. If there is one thing that a man or woman should know is where to put his or her place under the sun. This is one of the essentials if you want to have a lasting and meaningful companionship.
Being in a companionship with full awareness and consciousness gives you direction and getting rid of relationship issues that may hurt you and your partner. And one of the relationship issues that you may prevent is being in an unhealthy and destructive union. Knowing the signs of a bad relationship thwarts you from hurting yourself and wasting precious and valuable time.
Here are some few signs of a bad relationship. Your friends and family tells you that your bonding with your lover is bad for you. Family and friends are people that matters to you. They are the ones that truly care and want what is best for you. If they see that you are going downhill because of your romantic affair then you better consider if your affair is worth pursuing or not.
For instance, if your romantic affair makes you neglect your work and isolates you from the people that matters to you, then stop for a while and think of what direction you are heading. Being a controlling affair is one of the signs of being in a bad relationship. Being with a control freak is really one of the major relationship issues that you have to look out for.
If a person you are with is acting like taking over your life by making all the decisions for you, petty and significant ones, then you have to think really, really hard if you want to be with this person for the rest of your life. Being a silent partner and/ or a follower does not define a healthy union.
And last but not the least, you know it is time to pack your things and turn your back in an affair when there is any form of abuse like emotional, verbal and physical abuse. If your lover can afford to abuse you in any form, it’s not worth being with.
Let your self- respect be your gauge, if you are starting to feel less of yourself because of your union don’t let it go too far. Stop being blind and start looking at yourself.
