 Dating rules changes through time. It’s a good thing that they do because some of those old dating rules seem very suffocating and constraining. One of the dating rules that seemed senseless is for a woman to just stand in the corner and wait for the man to approach her.
I don’t mean to sound so liberated but you have to accept the fact that not all men have the guts to approach a woman. I always believe that if you see a good opportunity of meeting someone nice and decent, being friendly and amiable cannot harm anyone. It’s just sensible that dating rules should change because people’s outlook changes through time.

Dating rules should be based on safety and right decorum, not opinion or norms of the society. It’s unfair to set judgmental and objective restrictions on a very subjective matter like going out on a date. Going out on a date is one way of knowing someone you are interested in; it can open doors to new relationships.
This is where you can decipher if the person you are interested in fits the category of the relationship you want to establish. That’s why one of the dating rules that matters is - be yourself. Since this is the stage where you can find out if the person you are attracted to has the “goods” to be your boyfriend someday.
Pretending to be somebody you are not is a waste of time. You will deprive yourself of being accepted as who you are. When you go out on your rendezvous, never forget your true self. Be confident and stand up for your self worth. If your date doesn’t like what he is seeing then forget it, it’s a good thing you find out this early on than later.
Another dating rule that matters is - have fun. If you can’t have fun then maybe it’s not working. If both of you are having fun, it means you like the idea of knowing each other; you like the idea of being together. Having fun illustrates that both of you are interested at each other.
If you can’t have fun then maybe you should think twice before going out with the person again. If you can’t enjoy each other’s company at this initial stage of relationship then what’s the point pursuing it. Further dating rule that matter is - be honest. If you are not interested in the person tell him in a casual and polite way.
Don’t offend him. The worst thing you can do is to give your date false hopes. Aside from that, here are some more dating rules that you should consider: don’t be late, always be presentable, and never forget to compliment your date. If it’s your first date and you hardly know the person, don’t reveal too much of yourself- this is for your own safety.
I believe that if you hit it off well, its okay to call him but if he doesn’t answer your call and never bothers to call back then move on. If you are looking for a relationship, do your part. Be friendly and smile a lot; go out and have fun; register yourself in a match making site or chat in a decent and dependable chat rooms.
If you want to meet people don’t be ashamed about it but don’t be too desperate about it either. Just don’t forget the dating rules and you’ll be fine.
