No More Drama- Basic And Simple Ways Of Coming Out Of The Closet

Tags: , ,

You have a secret. A long kept buried secret. You want it out and you want it out now. You are done deliberating and re-evaluating yourself, now is the time to act. You have been gay all your life and coming out of the closet is the only solution. You want to break free from the chains of lies and deceit.

Your soul is crying out for acceptance and belongingness. You need people to see the real you. You need love and affection from the object of your affection, but how can he? He doesn’t even see you in the same light as you want him to be. Even the very person who gave you life to you doesn’t even know you’re gay.

The weight of this lies and is getting heavier and heavier to carry. Life is too short for this, you say. Coming out of the closet should be done soon but it’s easier said than done. How can you tell your friends, family, your girlfriend, your co-worker that you’re gay, when all the while they truly believe you are straight since the dawn of time? Especially your mom and dad who expect you to get married and have children someday.

For sure, you will break their hearts but you know its best they understand the truth about who you really are. You are one hundred and one percent, true- blue, hair flipping, ballet-dancing gay and getting married to a woman repulses you to the vein. You are ready and you are willing to take risk for whatever consequences for the truth- for coming out of the closet.

You are very much decided to tell anyone but before you do, it is best to enlighten them with your real sexuality in the most basic and simple ways to avoid uncalled for dramas and responses. In telling your family especially your parents be sure it’s going to be a private moment- where there’s only you and your mom and dad.

This kind of discussion should be done privately in case of any violent reaction- well not really violent reaction but at least it will help all of you to have a real conversation and real reactions. The worst thing you can do is to do it in a family gathering or party.

I know one practical example of what can go wrong with this one. My friend told me his story about how he came out of the closet in a family and friends gathering- he requested everybody’s attention and told every in that party that he is gay and he is proud about it.

Everybody was stunned and after a few minutes his father fell out of the chair and fainted and rushed to the hospital and was confined there for weeks because of heart attack. He later found out from his mom they don’t mind him being gay but the manner of telling them the news is too much for his father’s heart to handle.

Whenever you decide, coming out of the closet should be done personally and not out of anger or revenge. It should be done when you’re ready and prepared. Coming out of the closet may never be easy but it will be worth the risk.
