 So, you’re married? How many kids do you have? These are often the questions you’d be asked upon seeing friends, acquaintances and even relatives. You try so hard to look cheerful about it or even joke at it but deep inside you feel utterly crushed. Here you are seeing all the people you know getting married and having kids while you spend so much time and energy with your work, taking care of your father and adding more degrees in your resume.
It gets worst when you realize that there’s no prospective guy in your town cause all the good ones are taken and the rest either loves being a playboy or happens to be in love with other men as well. Would you settle for the next best thing? Marry off the first guy that shows any slight interest towards you? Why should one take the plunge just because you miss the train.

I’ve seen quiet a number of friends married in their later years and they seem happy. Why is this so? Greater financial security, more adept at balancing dependence and independence and has more realistic expectations of marriage. It’s either one marries for the right reason or not marry at all.
I mean being single isn’t exactly a life sentence. But what’s the secret on how to stay single and happy? To stay single and happy, remember, that first and foremost, acceptance is the only pre–requisite to truly enjoy the state of singlehood. It’s refreshing when you look at things in a different perspective.
Here are steps to consider on how to stay single and happy. First, make a list of what’s currently happening in your life. You’ll discover at how much you have going for you. Second, ask yourself what you want out of life. Get to know your strength and shortcomings. Once you can define yourself, you don’t have to find someone to “complete” you.
Third, to stay single and happy, this is the time of your life when all you really need to think about is yourself. You need not concern yourself of other people’s opinion. Fourth, we were taught proper etiquette and propriety, what’s life if you can’t laugh at yourself. Find the ‘silly’ in you.
Fifth, this is the chance for you to go out on different and unique dates without tying yourself down. Besides, the guy you’re probably dating with might be comparing you with the other ladies he’s also dating. Who knows, out of this never ending search for “the man” you might get to discover each other.
And later on, feel comfortable with each others company among all others. Don’t concentrate on dating alone. Enroll in short term courses; go to the gym or sports center. Sixth, the good thing about being single is that you can determine how your day will run. Seventh, pamper yourself by looking good and healthy.
Lastly, take this all in. What if you don’t find it in yourself to do these steps on how to stay single and happy, are you doomed to live a lonely and lousy life? If you remember to accept and follow your heart, then you’re not risking anything. Single life is an adventure.
Discovering what you are supposed to do is the fun part. This is a way on how to stay single and happy.
