 The work can be a conducive place to find a romantic partner, you get to see each other everyday, and you have the same objectives, the same problems. But before you decide to fall for your co worker, you have to weigh things out first if office love affair will be good for you and your career.
Since work place is a place of standard professionalism, having someone you're romantically involved with in the same place can sometimes create conflicts. In most companies and establishments, office love affair is strictly prohibited and has major consequences like termination. I guess, working place with firm rules against office love affair have rational reasons why office love affair can be a subject for termination.

For one, office love affair can be a major distraction in the working place not only to the party involved but to the co workers as well. This distraction may result to decrease in productivity and profit from the company. Not only that, some companies never want to risk employee conspiracy where they are at risk of major fall out.
That’s why co workers who are intensely inlove with each other keep their office love affair a secret. On the other hand, some small and private establishment, depending on the nature of the business seem not to mind office love affair. In this type of setting it is up to the people involved to balance professionalism and personal life.
Is it really possible to juggle both? One advantage of having a lover in the work place, as mentioned earlier is having the convenience. Now who wouldn’t want a personal driver who would take you to work and take you home after, plus lunches and dinners on the sides? And if your too busy to get out of your cubicle, your lover is always ready and ever willing to hand-carry your snacks and soda.
If you are having one of those days, and unable to finish your report, your knight in shinning armor will be there to finish it for you. Office love affair can also give you special support system or your own free private shrink. When your superior lashed out on you because of your mediocre presentation or a failed transaction, your lover-co worker is always there to comfort you and listen to you.
Having a lover for a co worker can make overtime work a pleasurable experience, imagine having the whole work place floor just for the two of you. The degree of convenience and support is even greater if your lover is your superior. Now that we are done deliberating with the advantages, let’s go to the other side of the fence.
The disadvantages of being involved in an office love affair. You get to be the talk of the whole office community. You get to be the subject of envy because of the favors you get. And if there’s lover, there’s a lover’s quarrel. Can you manage the jealousy if his flirting with your new co worker? Can you still do your work after a long hard and severe fight? No matter how you justify it, office love affair can affect the productivity of your work.
It’s a good thing if you’re the taker of the favors in the relationship but if you’re the giver, it’s inevitable that you’re likely to have poor productivity. Risking yourself for termination after slaving yourself in your work sounds irrational. But then again, if you think it’s really worth the risk then go ahead- it’s your job.
