Weddings are one of the most momentous and special occasions you can experience. You want it to be special and perfect. It’s every woman’s dream to go through a fantasy marriage ceremony of her own. Lover’s plan for weeks and even months to prepare for that big day and hiring a wedding coordinator is one of them.
Before deciding to have one, you have to figure out what kind of nuptial celebration you really want. If it’s a just a simple ceremony that doesn’t require a lot of preparations, then it’s better to ask for close friends and relatives for assistance. However, if you want an elaborate “Cinderella” ceremony, then most probably you need to consider hiring a wedding coordinator.

Furthermore, before considering one, you have to think about your own skills and experiences. If you have the resources and talent to conduct your own fantasy ceremony then hiring a wedding coordinator will just be a waste of time and money. For instance, if this is your third or fourth marriage ceremony and you have ample time in your hands to prepare, then most probably you have gathered enough contacts and experience to prepare your own ceremony.
In other words, before taking the services of a planner, you need to discern if you truly need one or not. Weighing the advantage and disadvantages of having one can help you decide easily. To help you out, I will lay out the pros and cons of hiring a wedding coordinator.
Having one means less work and effort on your part. This goes without saying because they will be the one to organize your ceremony. All you have to do is to lay out your plans and expectations and wait for the big day, unless your approval is required. Usually when it comes to food and beverages, you and your partner will be the one to choose and the coordinator’s job is to make it a point that it is delivered and presented efficiently on your big day.
When hiring a wedding coordinator you can also have the best value for your money. These people have established roots in the marriage planning community. They can possibly give you reasonable discounts on locations, caterers, singers or disc jockeys and other suppliers. Hiring a wedding coordinator can also save you a lot of time and gas mileage, since they have contacts on the speed dial.
Contacting and ordering your occasion’s necessities can be a breeze. Deciding to hire one can also give you peace of mind, having a trained planner around can calm you down in case hitches and glitches occur. The disadvantage of hiring a wedding coordinator is the tag price that goes along with it.
You just have to decipher if having one gives you much value for your money or budget. The disadvantages, of course, are the opposite of the ones mentioned above if you did not choose the right wedding coordinator. Instead of making it easier for you and save you time, money and effort and give you peace of mind, you will end up with a much harder time and spend more than expected if you hired a deceitful, gullible and inexperienced planner.
Hiring a wedding coordinator only works if you have the right one.
